Your group (one or more members) will have uploaded and finalized your stops into the Wikispace by the beginning of class on October 29. Your stops wikipage[s] needs to be uploaded under your group wikipage and named as such: GROUPNAME-stops [Example:Mugglemania-stops]. If you want a different stop per wikipage (I recommend this), follow the same naming formalae and add 1, 2, 3, or the like. [Example: Mugglemania-stop1,Mugglemania-stop2,Mugglemania-stop3 etc].
If you can't remember how to create or edit a wikipage, go HERE.
Expect to do revisions and edits for the final.
Purpose: The purpose of this section is to go into more detail about the physical geography for each of the four stops that you have chosen. If you have not physically visited your VFT area yet, this is when you have to go. Take lots of pictures. If you need a digital camera, you can borrow one from the department. There needs to be at least one picture of every group member at at least one site of the VFT (or some other proof you were there).
This section will have the following:
1. A physical geography write-up per stop - Think about the general stops you
have chosen, and what physical landforms or features they show, i.e. what makes
each stop unique in terms of its physical geography? What geography concepts
and/or land features do you want the Nevada or Wisconsin VFTers to know?
2. The GPS points from each stop (i.e. latitude [N], longitude [W])
3. Pictures of each stop, particularly of the geology, soil, or landform[s] of
interest. You cannot just download pictures from the internet. I expected you to go
to these sites. Make sure the pictures are clear and represent each stop adequately.
Remember, do not to choose stops that are inaccessible, government classified, on
private property (except with explicit, written permission), dangerous, etc.
4. At least one additional map, diagram, or graph. Examples include a map of
Georgia’s geology, a figure showing elevation changes, an aerial photograph
showing land patterns, topographic profiles, etc.
5. At least 3 terms from the textbook (in bold or italicized so I know)
6. At least 3 cited sources (where did you find this info? NO wiki-anything)
Make sure a title + the names of all the members of your group can be found on the wikipage(s).
------The total points is 30-------- 12 points for content [3 points per stop], 4 points for at least four pictures [a minimum of one per stop required] 4 points for four GPS coordinates 2 points for additional map/diagram/graph 3 points for the terms and cited sources 3 points for spelling/syntax etc. 2 points for uploading it correctly on wikispace.
